Eating and Creating Local: Taking a Phuket Cooking Class

Chopped? Masterchef? Hell’s Kitchen? All a piece of cake after your Phuket Cooking Class

Food in Thailand is more than just something you eat. It’s a way of life. Everywhere you go you’ll see food. Stalls, street food and vendors on the roads. Restaurants at every turn in town and candlelit beach front dinners. Soon enough you’ll want to be recreating this delicious fare at home. A Phuket cooking class  is exactly what you need!

You’ve just got back from an infamous Bodega Phuket adventure and have told all your friends about your incredible time. What could make it even better? Giving them a taste of your trip through a Thai dinner party. If you’re not the usual chef type these classes are still brilliant fun! If you’re experienced, then you’ll love adding to your repertoire!

What to Expect

In most classes you’ll learn a number of dishes from an accomplished chef. This might be in a restaurant setting, a dedicated cooking school or in someone’s home kitchen. Most of the time you’ll learn an appetiser or two, a main dish and potentially a sweet element. The very best classes will provide you with recipes to take away but it’s always best to come armed with a pen and paper. The following are just a few of those that are available but they’re our pick of the bunch!

Organic Thai Cooking

This is a whole day of cooking and food activities. You’ll learn to cook some of the most famous dishes that Thailand has to offer. The day includes an exploration into an outdoor market allowing you to see, smell and sample the raw ingredients that you’ll use later on during the cooking. At the school itself you’ll have a tour of their small organic farm where you’ll see traditional vegetables growing ready for use. A maximum size of 3 people per class means an exclusive and intimate feel.
