Koh Phangan full moon party dates 2019

Where is the Full Moon Party?

Location: If you’re looking for the biggest full moon party then you’ll want to head towards Haad Rin on Koh Pha Ngan. There are actually two beaches in the Haad Rin area. Haad Rin Nok which is the party beach and Haad Rin Nai which is the sunset beach. Both will have some partying on but Rin Nok is where the main event is.

Date: Look above, time your visit to coincide with the above

Time: This is daytime drinking territory but the main events begin from 10pm until 6am the next day so don’t go too hard too soon. Some make it a goal to watch the sunset with their incredibly fucked up friends, but most don’t make it that late!

Price: This really depends on how much you can spend. You can, of course, just roll onto the beach with a bag of beers and have a good time. You could book into one of the extortionately priced beachfront hostels and spend hundreds of dollars a night, but if you’re doing it right you won’t be sleeping. Right?

How To Get to Koh Phangan: If you’re coming from Koh Samui, especially Koh Samui Bodega Resort, then you’ll likely be taking the ferry across the short spanse of water between the two islands. If you’re coming from the mainland, ferry is also the option to take. Both don’t take long and are pretty comfortable.

Experiencing Your First FMP

Full Moon virgin? Don’t sweat it, you certainly won’t be alone. The best course of action is to throw yourself into it. Grab some UV fluorescent paints and smear them all over yourself. Get down to the beach and grab a bucket. You’ll probably pay around 350 baht, this might seem steep but these drinks are potent and can easily be shared.

Don’t go barefoot. That might seem odd, this is a beach after all, but seriously don’t go barefoot. In fact, don’t even wear flip flops. Go in trainers and thank us later. There’s so much broken glass by the end of the evening, you don’t want the party to stop early thanks to a blood leak.

The best advice is to grab some friends, stick together and generally have a good time. Don’t do anything particularly stupid and you’ll be fine.

Here’s a Bodega secret for your post-Full Moon Party hangover: Koh Phangan has amazing saunas!
