Earth Tone is a small but well-known eatery about 2 kilometers from the center of Pai. The restaurant is easy to find, as is bang on the main road. The restaurant, which has recently been taken over by Remy and his family, is over ten years old. They are well-known around town for their delicious buddha bowls, salads, smoothies and more.
They source most of their ingredients locally and even make their own in-house cakes and ice creams. Earth Tone also has a small shop where you can purchase locally made craft and self-care products like soaps, incense, oils, organic grains, flour, spices and more. Over the years, Earth Tone has really perfected what they do and you are sure to enjoy a meal there. This place is our go-to for a late breakfast.

Fat Cat is another popular restaurant located just opposite Earth Tone. The restaurant has a number of exciting vegan and vegetarian options made with fresh and wholesome ingredients. They even brew their own kombucha! Their restaurant is a great spot for casual dining or enjoying a cup of coffee with a book. The restaurant is made on stilts so you’re eye-level with the trees when you sit down. Fat Cat is a must-visit if you’re looking for a clean and comforting meal while in Pai.

Charlie & Lek’s is located in the middle of Pai, and is a very affordable place to eat on a day-to-day basis. This is the best place to explore Northern Thai cuisine, like the Burmese-influenced Khao Soi and Nam Phrik Num. They have vegetarian, vegan and non-vegetarian options which means that it’s the perfect place to go with a mixed group. We recommend this place for dinner as it stays open late.

If you find yourself on Walking Street in the evening, you will find a number of food carts parked on the side of the road. Falafel Queen is usually parked opposite Cafe Pai but because it’s on wheels, the location is likely to be different every time you visit.
