Cheap Drinks in Bangkok: Partying in Thailand on a Budget
No trip to Bangkok is complete without a night out on the town, downing a Chang or three and enjoying the warmth of the evening. But you don’t need to spend a fortune to make the most of a drinking session in the capital. Here are our favorite spots to get the cheapest drinks in Bangkok!
Bangkok has got a great selection of bars and clubs, ranging from local drinking dens tucked away on the back streets all the way through to upmarket cocktail bars on the roofs of five-star hotels with prices to match. It can be tricky to know where to go for an affordable night out, so if you want your travel dollar to stretch further then read on for our pick of the best places to drink in Bangkok on a budget.
Kansai Izakaya, Ratchada
A cheap way to get a lot of drinks in a short space of time is to go to a bar that offers free-flow drinks. Kansai Izakaya is a good place to try this, with a retro feel to the décor and delicious Japanese food alongside. We love their evening deal of 2 hours of free flow Asahi beer for just 299 baht (about $9). You can get through quite a few ice-cold glasses in that time!
Hours of Operation: 11 AM – 1:30 PM and 5 PM – 11 PM Monday to Friday, 5 PM – 11 PM Saturday
Location: 56/34 Ratchada Soi 4, Huaykwang, Bangkok

Phranakorn Bar & Gallery, Nakhon
This place offers a cheap drink with a view. Famous for affordable cocktails and great live music, Phra Nakorn bar has an extensive drinks list with mojitos starting from 150 baht ($4.50) and a good choice of beer. The food comes highly recommended as well, especially the banoffee pie. This is a great choice if you’re looking to impress someone on a date as the views are worth a lot more than they charge for the drinks!
Hours of Operation: 12 PM – 12 AM Monday – Sunday
Location: 58/2 Soi Domnoen Klang Tai, Ratchadamnoen Klang Rd, Phra Nakorn, Bangkok

Vogue Lounge, Ratchanakharin Rd
This next choice is an upmarket bar that offers an affordable drinks deal. The rooftop location makes you feel like a millionaire and the décor has a 1920’s theme for a stylish night out. While the beer is a bit pricey, the real reason to come and drink here is the daily ‘Fashion Hour’ deal, where all drinks (including cocktails) are buy one get one free. Come here if you want the feeling of mixing in Bangkok’s elite, while still keeping some baht in your pocket for a tuktuk ride home!

The Bangkok Pub Crawl
Khaosan Road Pub Crawl
Heading to the (in)famous “Khaosan Road” with the undisputed party hostel in Bangkok can seem like a daunting task but with a crack team and some liquid courage, anything is possible.
We start the night off rowdy at Bodega Bangkok around 7PM with the usual drinking games…and free vodka until the bottles run dry, but on one condition: pants off! Take your pants off, free flow vodka mixed drinks (yes, you read that right!). Our dedicated party team takes you into the madness around 10:30PM in our party vans, bouncing around all the way to Khaosan Road. On arrival, we all pack into a bar with drink specials exclusive to the Bodega Bangkok Pub Crawl.
After some time spent there, drinking the cheapest buckets on Khaosan and dancing our lives’ away, we head off to conquer one of the greatest street parties you have ever seen!
It’s a fun filled night, mixed in with the greatest memories and the best friends you will ever make! We suggest taking some photos, since it’s quite common you’ll wake up missing memories of the pub crawl night.
Ratchada Night Train Market Pub Crawl
A night that should by all rights be a calmer evening has now turned into one of the heaviest nights of the week. Once again the team, at Bodega Bangkok has found a way to spice things up!
The Ratchada Pub Crawl night starts off the same as our Khao San nights – no pants and free vodka starting at 7PM. Things escalate at a rapid pace until we’re at full steam, rocking out the door heading into our party vans.
Arriving at the market, we head to our “home base” where we urge you to buy a beer for the walk. Bless Thailand for allowing us to drink while on the streets!
Unlike many pub crawls, this part of the night is fairly unstructured. Everyone has their preferences of what they want to check out at night markets, so the freedom is all yours. If you’re thirsty, head back to our home base and grab yourself another beer.
Just past midnight, we take a brisk 10 minute walk to the undisputed king of Bangkok’s underground club scene: Moustache Bar. It stays open until 4AM and sometimes even later. Unlike the clubs on Khao San Road and other tourist traps, Moustache features some of the city’s absolute best EDM DJs.
Let the drinks flow!
Take your time to check out all of these places and more- there’s a wealth of affordable drinking spots to discover in the nation’s capital. Chuck a few baht in your pocket and get going!
