Super Rich Thailand
Super Rich Thailand has been open for more than 50 years. It is probably the most popular of all the currency exchanges in Bangkok and rightly so. The service is impeccable and their rates are the best in Bangkok the vast majority of the time. Thankfully there’s more than just one branch, in fact there are 14 of them around Bangkok. The majority of them are found around the most popular tourist spots and there’s one at Suvarnabhumi Airport too if you’ve just arrived.
If you’re after the very best rates head for the one in Rajdamri. This is their headquarters branch and has the best rates. Traveller’s Cheques are accepted in almost all of them.

A rumour has floated around that these are rival brands set up by brothers but there doesn’t appear to be any proof of that… This is the biggest of the exchange brands with 22 different locations available. VASU Exchange
Rather than a multi-store brand this is a smaller independent company. They’re located right in the heart of central Bangkok, making it an easily accessible exchange. It is located right in front of the Nana BTS station in the centre of the Sukhumvit area. If you’re particularly lucky, you might swing by on a day with a special promotional rate. These rates are often better than what the above companies can offer. Traveller’s Cheques are accepted.

Location: 133-133/1 Soi 7/1 Sukhumvit, Sukhumvit, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, Bangkok
SIA Money Exchange
With over 30 years of experience you can be assured of a quality experience and a trustworthy set of employees. You might also notice them using branding from Golden Wall & Travel Service Company as they are part of the same group. Like VASU, with some promotional rates they can be the best in town. They will happily accept your Traveller’s Cheques too.

X-ONE Currency Exchange Center
Coming from the UK? This is often your best bet. They regularly offer the best rates when purchasing your GBP. They do, of course, offer rates for many other currencies too, and they’re usually at competitive levels. The easiest way to visit is to jump off the MRT at Samyan station, then it’s a short 7-minute walk. It is especially useful if you’re visiting Patpong as they’re in the same place. Traveller’s Cheques accepted.

#BodegaHostels Insider Tip
Not so interested in carrying cash? We can highly recommend looking into getting yourself a Revolut card. They are either cheap or free to get (depending on your home country) and work just like a Mastercard or VISA.
Their main benefit is that they bypass any foreign transaction fees as the currency is converted on the card’s account rather than by the ATM. Also, you can easily freeze the card if it’s lost via the handy app. There are no fees for transferring money to it from your bank account and the rates are all fixed at the international LIBOR rate used by banks worldwide.
