Bringing a piece of England to Thailand, Truefitt & Hill are a traditional gentleman’s chain in the UK who have moved overseas to bring their brand of old school cool to the streets of Bangkok. The walls are decked out in pinstripe wallpaper and old sepia photos, and a trip here is more of an immersive experience than just a mere haircut. The services on offer range from shaves to facials, beard trimming to shoe shining, although with the haircuts priced at 1,100 baht ($35) you might want to be selective about what you go for!

This is a barbers with attitude, where you’re more likely to leave with a freestyle design shaved into the back of your head than you are to get a manicure. The stylists here are heavily influenced by American culture and rap music plays in the background while you get transformed. By the time you’re done, you’ll want to check out one of the many amazing hip hop clubs in Bangkok!

Tew’s is something of a Bangkok institution. You don’t come here looking for state-of-the-art equipment or a modern refurb, but what it lacks in modern design it makes up for in service and attention to detail. The chairs are still the same as when they first opened their doors many years ago, and the stacks of imported grooming products heaped around the place give it a rough and ready but functional appeal. The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable, with a basic cut costing 600 baht ($19) and a hot towel shave costing 400 baht ($13).
