Snorkeling in Phi Phi
No backpacking trip through Thailand is complete without snorkeling through tropical coral reef! While it seems like every hostel and tour group in the area offers snorkeling packages, ours are truly unique. You’ll be rolling with a deep squad down some of the most badass snorkeling spots in Phi Phi, from Monkey Beach to Maya Bay.
Monkey Beach gets its name from…well, all the local monkeys hanging around on the white sands. Located not too far from Tonsai Bay, it’s a 150m strip of Snow White sand and clear, emerald waters. We’ll give you ample time to go swimming, snorkel around and get into some monkey business.?
Maya Bay is easily the most famous beach in Thailand, best known for its appearance in Leonardo Di Caprio’s The Beach. In the film, our boy Leo finds a strange map that leads him to a heavenly beach. While many movies feature beaches of Thailand and try to stretch the true experience as best they can for the cameras, Maya Bay lives up to the hype. Easily.
